Credo Farms – Our Farming Practices

Credo Farms – Our Farming Practices

Pasture-Raised Standards

Our animals live full-time on pasture—grazing, scratching, and foraging in the open air. This natural environment promotes animal health and produces food that’s richer in flavor and nutrients.

No Antibiotics

We never use routine antibiotics. Instead, we rely on clean pasture, proper nutrition, and a low-stress environment to keep animals naturally healthy.

No Hormones Ever

Growth hormones are never used in any part of our operation. Our animals grow at their own natural pace, the way nature intended.

Natural Deworming

We manage internal parasites using organic methods such as Shaklee’s Basic H, along with clean water, pasture rotation, and observation.

Non-GMO Feed

We feed only non-GMO grains. This means our animals are never exposed to genetically modified crops or the chemical residues that often come with them. It’s about clean food from the ground up.

Corn-Free

We avoid corn because it is commonly sprayed with chemicals and difficult to verify as clean. Corn can also imbalance the nutritional profile of meat and eggs.

Soy-Free

We stay away from soy, which is often GMO and heavily treated with chemicals. It can also impact hormone levels in both animals and humans.

What Cage-Free Really Means

“Cage-free” simply means no cages—but often still means animals live indoors. Our animals live outside on real pasture with space and fresh air.

Rotational Grazing

We move animals regularly to new pasture. This builds soil health, prevents overgrazing, and keeps the animals clean and healthy.

Regenerative Agriculture

We work to heal the land. Our practices build soil, support biodiversity, and create a stronger ecosystem for future generations.

Animal Welfare & Humane Handling

We care deeply for our animals. From birth to harvest, they’re treated with respect, gentleness, and care every step of the way.

No Animal By-Products in Feed

We never use feeds that contain animal by-products. Our feed is clean, plant-based, and paired with natural forage from the land.

On-Farm or Local Processing

We process animals either on the farm or with trusted local partners to minimize stress and ensure the highest standards of quality and humane treatment.

Forage-Based Seasonal Diets

Animals eat what the seasons provide—grasses, clovers, seeds, and forage. This natural variation creates depth in flavor and nutrition.

Understanding Food Labels

Terms like “free-range” and “cage-free” are often misleading. We educate our customers so they understand the difference and know what they’re really buying.

Transparency Over Certification

We don’t rely on labels. We open our farm to questions and visits because we believe trust should come from real action—not paid seals.

Dr. Weston A. Price

A pioneering dentist and researcher who traveled the world studying the diets of traditional cultures. He found that nutrient-dense, unprocessed foods produced strong, healthy people free from modern disease.

  • Emphasized animal fats, organ meats, and mineral-rich bones as critical to human health
  • Advocated for unrefined, whole foods free from industrial processing
  • Found that traditional cultures had wide dental arches, no cavities, and robust immunity
  • Showed how modern diets led to degeneration in just one generation
  • His research supports pasture-based, nose-to-tail eating and natural farming methods

Dr. Thomas Cowan

A holistic doctor and co-founder of the Weston A. Price Foundation, Dr. Cowan emphasizes natural immunity, vibrant soil health, and medical freedom in food production.

  • Believes that healthy “terrain” (body & soil) prevents disease more than treating symptoms
  • Strong advocate of no vaccines in livestock or children; supports natural immunity
  • Warns against modern inputs like glyphosate, GMO feed, and pharmaceutical additives
  • Supports structured water, nutrient-dense plants, and biodynamic agriculture
  • Promotes the link between clean farming and strong immunity
